Ascent- growth, progress, positive 

Descent- decline, regress, negative

This doesn’t have to be how everyone views the two, but it is definitely the way we have been conditioned to; from religious parables and Dante’s Inferno to the most instinctive linguistic relation to the two. The bottomline is that ascending and descending are verbs that always find themselves on opposite sides of the recommended perspective of the future.

We don’t mean to force this, often morally charged, distinction upon you. We want to see how this distinction has affected you; how you have maybe reflected on the idea of one or the other or the interaction between the two. In any case, we aim to urge such a creative reflection and collect an anthology of your experiences with ascending, and the pressure or perhaps desire to, descending, by chance or on purpose, or finding yourself in the middle or the outside of the two.
